Hello people,
Face masks are a wonderful addition to any skincare routine and when you find the right one it can work wonders. And for the most part, they’re an instant gratification product, unlike other skin care items that can take weeks to take effect. Somehow, I believe that the face masks work on your mind as much as they work on the skin. I just find applying face masks very calming and peaceful. It has been a while I purchased readymade facemasks because I was into making and using DIY masks the last few months. I spotted Innisfree at Centre Point, Siam Square in Bangkok whilst walking down the metro station. Needless to say, I was excited and I knew I’d shop there.
My Favorite Innisfree Face Masks
Innisfree is a Korean skincare company, promoting the use of natural and pure ingredients; and eco-friendly practices. Innisfree is not a fully natural brand. They do use chemicals. But guys, not all chemicals are bad. At least that’s what I believe. I am open to using products that aren’t completely natural, but, I make sure the worst chemicals like mineral oil, petroleum by-products, urea, etc. are avoided.
Anyway, coming to the face masks, I’ve 3 favorites to share with you today. So, shall we begin?
1. Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
This mask contains Jeju volcanic clay which is made from minerals that are released from volcanic explosions of Jeju. Per their website, this is classified as a preserved alkaline resource and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities.
This facemask is gray in color and has a very thick consistency. This is one of those products which does not boast, yet, silently does the work. This face mask deeply cleanses the skin and exfoliates very well. This is the kind of facemask you’d want to treat yourself with after a long week. I use the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay mask as part of my Sunday skin care routine. I usually start with steaming my face with Peppermint and Tea Tree Oil. After that, I scrub my face using any natural cleanser / ubtan like Kama Ayurveda’s Mridul Cleanser.
Followed by this, I spray rose water generously on my face and start applying this face mask using a circular motion. It can be difficult to work with this facemask if your skin is dry. I highly recommend spraying rose water before applying this face pack. Once I am done applying I usually tend to spray more rose water as and when I feel the facemask is turning dry. I leave it on for 20 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. This is best done during the shower, otherwise, it is going to take you a lot of time to wash this facemask. Again, keep in mind to use circular motions while removing the mask.
I really like how my skin feels after using this. It cleanses the skin from deep within and that shows. My skin feels very clean and fresh after using this. I would recommend this face mask to all of you. It is a great investment, and, will last you very long as you need only a little product each time.
Though not completely natural, it is free of harsh chemicals like mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients, artificial fragrances, and imidazolidinyl urea.
Price: Rs.1100 for 100ml.
2. Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack – Rice
I used this mask right after using the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay mask as I felt this would be nourishing after a deep cleanse. I liked this mask a lot because it left my skin very supple, soft and fresh. These capsule pack can be used twice at the maximum. Don’t forget to store it in a refrigerator once you open it.
Oh, this can also be used as an overnight face mask. Massage sufficient quantity into your face as the last step of your skincare and get that beauty sleep. Doesn’t that sound perfect for a Sunday night? I am sure to try it as an overnight pack the next time I purchase these.
Price: Rs.150 for 10ml.
3. Innisfree Sheet Masks – Rose, Manuka Honey, Acai Berry & Rice.
You might have heard this zillion times. But, I will tell you again. Innisfree sheet masks are – Pure Love.
I had never tried any kind of sheet masks until I visited Thailand. The beaches and the sun gave me a bad tan. And, tan is not something I appreciate because I am already dusky. Long story short, I needed some kind of face mask and I found one at 7-Eleven store in Krabi. I do not know the brand name or what that facemask was meant for because everything written in Thai. I had no other option so I got it, used it, and fell in love.
So when I went to Innisfree in Bangkok, I had to pick up a few sheet masks. And let me tell you it is very difficult to buy just one. They are so attractive that you’d want to pick one of each. I got one of each – Rose, Manuka Honey, Acai Berry & Rice. I controlled myself to not buy more of these, only to pick up a few more sheet masks from The Face Shop later that evening.
Each sheet mask has its own purpose, but what I find in common in all these sheet masks are that they leave your skin feeling absolutely fresh and hydrated. I usually use them mid week when I feel exhausted. Whenever I use it, I make sure to scrub my face with a natural cleanser / ubtan and then apply any one of the sheet masks. I leave it on for 10 – 20 minutes. And then, I dab the rest of the product on my face and go to sleep.
Every time I use this, I wake up with a fresher & brighter face next morning. I feel these sheet masks are best used at night time because the serum deeply nourishes the skin all through the night. These sheet masks are a great ‘pick me up’ for your skin and gives a boost of moisture.
In my opinion, even if you do not use sheet masks regularly, you must carry a couple of them along with you during your travels. Not only are they comfortable and travel-friendly, they are the perfect boost for your skin during travels.
Price: Rs.100 each.
So, that’s is all I have got to share with you today. Those were my three picks from Innisfree and do let me know your favorites in the comments below.
